About Us
We're a small company that has years of experience with electronic repair. While The ICU is a relatively new brand, the techs working on your phone are not new to the job. We're big fans of the latest and greatest technology, and we love tech more than we probably should! We love the satisfaction that comes from a great repair. More than that, we love the satisfaction that comes from a happy customer. That is always our first priority.
Simply put: Cost.
Phone manufacturers do excellent work, and their repairs are trustworthy. They're also among the most expensive options. Other repair companies can provide the same quality of work and the same guarantees as the manufacturer, but often at a lower price. We don't think that getting a phone repaired by the company that makes it is a bad decision. If it's warrantied, or if it won't cost you more money, then we honestly recommend that you use them and not a 3rd party company like us.
We can't speak for everyone, but we will provide a quality repair that is backed by our warranty.
While many companies out there are also good choices, not every company is as concerned with their work as we are. Not every company is as honest and upfront as we are. We're a small company. Because of that, we give every job our full attention. We may not be as quick as other shops advertise, but we take our time and do it right the first time.
We properly fix phones based on 5 Core Values:
Repairing electronics is a passion of ours that we are very good at.
We believe that a broken phone can still be a good phone.
A properly repaired, tested and cared for phone comes with a certain guarantee of function and reliability that new phones can’t provide.
Not everyone can afford a new phone.
Repaired phones eliminate e-waste.
We don't perform repairs or sell phones to you that we wouldn't do or sell to ourselves, our family or our friends.
At the moment, we are by appointment only. By submitting a request, we can know that you need service and we will get you taken care of as soon as possible. Additionally, it saves you time and adds the convenience of setting up service from wherever you are.
Most repairs are completed within 1.5 hours, but some repairs can take longer. There are different variables to consider. Send us a request with the details of what you need done, and we can give you a reliable timeline.
That is a very good question. We use OEM parts whenever possible or reasonable. A lot of it has to do with who makes the phone, but sometimes it comes down to what the customer wants. Some companies, like Samsung or Google, make OEM parts readily available and at prices that are competitive. Other companies, like Apple, make it near impossible to get new, OEM parts. In those situations, we may have no choice but to use aftermarket parts.
That's not a bad thing though. Aftermarket part manufacturing is a big and expensive industry. The companies we use spend lots of money to be able to make their parts. They wouldn't be in business very long if people weren't happy with what they made. We wouldn't be using them if we weren't happy, either. When refurbished or pulled (new or like-new parts from phones that have unrelated issues) parts are available, we may use them, as well.
Lastly, we don't search all over the internet looking at every possible site to buy parts. There are only 3 parts suppliers that we use. We know them and we trust them.
Please send us an email with any questions you may still have. We take pride in our transparency. If you ask us a question, we'll give you the honest answer.
